Sun Microsystems Sponsors CoSN's Cybersecurity Initiative and Leadership in Education Today's schools are at the threshold of change - evolving from antiquated IT systems to sophisticated networks bringing students, faculty and school administrators together at a global level. At the same time, these sophisticated systems face a higher level security threat which demands immediate action. Sun Microsystems, Inc. has been a sponsor of the non-profit organization, Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), since 1999, and continues to support the organization's initiatives, including “Cybersecurity: For the Digital District.” Under the leadership of the Mass Networks Education Partnership, CoSN’s Cybersecurity initiative provides schools and school districts with vital information on education networks in order to ensure the privacy and the security of data within their systems.
